I still have plastic shampoo and conditioner bottles in my shower. The conditioner is Garnier and can be recycled through the free recycling program for Garnier that is offered by TerraCycle. The shampoo is Head and Shoulders because I'm a classy broad with snazzy taste in shampoo and other fine things. What if I could replace both my shampoo and conditioner and eliminate the plastic altogether?
I consulted Google and was able to find a company that offers a variety of products that come in returnable containers that are [brace yourself] NOT plastic. Hooray! Plain Products is a company on a mission to reduce plastic waste and plastic use. Their products come in aluminum bottles that are returned, sanitized, and used again. Aluminum is a product that can withstand this type of use infinitely. Even their packaging is tip top. They use EcoEnclose for their boxes and they are made strong with 95 percent post-consumer waste and 5 percent post-industrial waste. Since the boxes are made strong, they can be reused many times for shipping. The products themselves are all made from natural and healthy ingredients.
So how does it work? Order what you want online either as you need it or you can pick your own bundles that will ship to you every 2, 3, 4, or 6 months. You can cancel or adjust your subscription at any time. You don't want a subscription? You don't have to get one to order from Plain Products but you might enjoy product subscriptions. I have a subscription to Who Gives A Crap and Bite-Toothpaste Bits and I love it. Your first order will have the pumps included with your new shampoo, conditioner, or lotion. When the replacement arrives just put the pump into the replacement container. When you send back the container Plain Products covers the cost. Perfect.
I'm so excited to try these products and I will write a review once I do. You don't have to wait for me though, go ahead and check out Plain Products.
