Dear kitchen sponge, how I love you! So convenient and easy is the kitchen sponge. It’s cheap and I can just toss them in the trash when they get old. Grab a new one, toss the plastic wrapper in the trash and everything is good again. This is what I did before I knew the garbage can was lacking magical portal powers. Darn, you muggle trash can! When the kitchen sponges ran out we switched to 100% cotton washcloths and bamboo food scrapers. I choose 100% cotton because it can be composted at the end of its life. The washcloths will last for a few years, unlike a sponge. Not only will it save on waste but money too. Most people like saving money. The bamboo food scrapers work great and I got a 4 pack on Amazon for about $12. There was a bit of an adjustment period where I admittedly longed for a kitchen sponge but I got through it and like most breakups, I came out tougher after.
You know what, I never really liked sponges. I just didn't know what to use to scrub pots and pans. But, hmmm, now that I know of this blocks, I'll start working them on to dishwashing routine.

Thanks for the comment! We have been using these bamboo scrapers for a while and they work great and really hold up well. The best part is that it's a renewable resource and it goes in the compost.
